MOL Group has retained its position in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index

As continuity to our previous year’s success, MOL Group, uniquely in this region, has been included into the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, based on the evaluation of the leading company specialized in global corporate sustainability analysis, the Sustainable Asset Management (SAM).

SAM Research AG is a Zurich-based company focusing on companies which operate in accordance with the principles of sustainability. The 2500 largest global companies, selected from Dow Jones Global Stock Market Index, are evaluated, and then the top 10% is selected into the group of the best sustainability performers. This year 118 companies in the oil and gas producers sector were included into the evaluation process, and MOL Group was recognized as one of the top 12.

MOL Group’s recognition as one of the best sustainability performers in the oil and gas industry is the result of the long-term commitment towards its environmental and social responsibilities. MOL Group focuses on the long-term economic sustainability as a strategic issue by developing social and environmental actions that are critical to this sector, e.g. cleaner fuels, transparency, or occupational health and safety.

“The recognition of our sustainability strategy issued in 2006 is the success that we were listed again - uniquely in this region - among the best companies in the world in 2011. This management approach is considered as a core part of our everyday business operation, and this latest acknowledgement means an outstanding external assurance that we are leading on the right way.” – stated József Molnár, GCEO of MOL Group.
