MOL will be included into Dow Jones Sustainability World Index as the first and sole company from the region

MOL will be included into Dow Jones Sustainability World Index from 20 of September, 2010 as the first and sole company from the region based on the evaluation of the no. 1. company specialised for global corporate sustainability analysis, namely the Sustainable Asset Management (SAM from Switzerland).

SAM Research AG is a Zurich-based company focusing onto companies that operate in accordance with the principles of sustainability. When companies are analysed, the 2500 largest global companies (selected from Dow Jones Global Stock Market Index) are evaluated, then the top 10% is selected as the best sustainability performers. This year 112 oil and gas companies were involved into the evaluation process, and MOL was recognised as one of the best 12.

MOL’s recognition as one of the best sustainability performers in the oil and gas industry was the result of our long-term commitment towards environmental and social responsibilities. MOL has been focusing onto long term economic sustainability as a strategic issue by developing social and environmental issues that are critical to this sector, e.g. climate change, transparency, occupational health and safety.
